PADI Discover Scuba Diving LogoThe PADI Discover Scuba Diving Experience is made for people who like to experience Scuba Diving and breathing underwater for the first time, or for those who have limited time during their holidays or vacation in Bali, Indonesia.

Discover Scuba Diving is developed by PADI on "Dive Today" philosophy and is an easy way to have your first compressed air breathes underwater in Bali's ocean and see the beautiful marine life up-close.

PADI Discover Scuba Diving is not a full Scuba course, it is described by PADI as a dive "Experience". It is a basic dive training for beginners who are interested in Scuba diving.

There will be straight-forward knowledge and skill development sessions after which you can take a plunge in the ocean here in Sanur, Bali. Basically the Discover Scuba Diving Experience is the first dive of the PADI Open Water Diver certification course and you will earn credit for Confined Water Dive One of the Open Water Diver Course.

Course Overview

You will experience Scuba diving under the direct supervision of one of our qualified PADI Instructors.

This programme requires participants to demonstrate mastery of specific information, concepts and Scuba skills before proceeding with their first open water dive.

Knowledge and skills are developed by taking the beginner diver through a practical based training session to learn the basics of Scuba diving in a confined water session. We can conduct this dive here in Sanur or around the island of Nusa Penida when the conditions are right.

When the basic practical skills are achieved by the participant, he/she will make the first Scuba dive to an avarage depth of 6 metres (20 ft) not exceeding the maximum depth of 12 metres (40 ft).

The Discover Scuba Diving Experience is built up on three sessions:

  1. Knowledge Development;
  2. Waterskills Development;
  3. You First Open Water Dive.

Course Pre-requisites

  • No Diving Experience Needed;
  • Have minimum age of 12 years;
  • Have basic swimming skills and be of good general health;
  • Evaluate and sign the PADI Discover Scuba Diving statement.

This Scuba Diving Course Includes

  • Drinking water;
  • All equipment hire;
  • Air fill;
  • Transfers during the diving to dive locations;
  • Free Copy of BIDP's "Bali Ocean" Scuba Diving DVD (with underwater video of Bali's dive sites).

Duration Of This Experience

  • Recommended duration is 2 hours;
  • 1 open water dive.

After The PADI Discover Scuba Diving Experience

After you have finished this basic Scuba diving experience and want to continue your underwater impressions, you can continue diving under the direct supervision of a qualified Scuba instructor for 2 weeks.

You can participate in the PADI Open Water Diver Course and skip the fist confined water dive after you have completed the Discover Scuba Diving Experience.
