PADI Emergency First Response CourseThe PADI Emergency First Response Course (EFR) is an on-shore 1-day course training integrating accident management which adresses Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) and Emergency First Response Secondary Care (First Aid). It is the necessary step to become PADI Rescue Diver and replaces the PADI Medic First Aid Course that was part of PADI's program some time ago.
Someone cuts his hand during drift diving at a piece of coral. An older gentleman collapses from a heart attack. A younger person floats face down in the swimming pool, motionless. Things like this happen every day and during the Emergency First Response Course you will learn how to react properly to these situations. Many times, life or death and complete recovery versus long-term disability lies within the first response and care of people around the victim untill professional medical help arrives to take the person to a hospital. Bali International Diving Professionals in Bali Indonesia have the opinion that every person, Scuba divers and Non Scuba divers alike should follow this course to be able to react in the right way when a accident happens, inside- and beside the water and during every day life. Course OverviewThe student has to work through the Emergency First Response Participant Manual's three sections: Section One - Independent Study Workbook (this section provides you with fundamental knowledge specific to Emergency Responder Care) Sectio Two - Skills Workbook (this section will adress skill development of your Emergency First Response Course) Section Three - Emergency Reference (this section provides a quick emergency care reference to use when you have become an Emergency First Responder) You will learn Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR=Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and Emergency Response Secondary Care (First Aid) The course incorporates independent study to prepare you for a classroom and hands-on skill development session with your instructor. You will learn the same patient care techniques used by medical professionals, but at a lay person level.
